Prayer Thu 10-8

St. Cecilia is the Patron Saint of Music. She was forced by her parents to marry a pagan
nobleman named Valerian. During the wedding, Cecilia sat apart singing to God in her heart.
She eventually convinced her husband to convert to Christianity. After he died, she sold all of
her possessions and gave the money to the poor, which angered a local nobleman who then
ordered her beheaded. Cecilia was struck three times on the neck with a sword; she lived for
three days before dying.

God grant us the perseverance and grace to remain faithful to your will,
as St. Cecilia was.
