Turning ON the Firewall

on your Computer
A Step by Step Instruction

STEP 1

Access Control Panel.


STEP 2
 Choose System and
Security in Control Panel.
STEP 3
Select Windows
Firewall in the right list.
STEP 4

Tap Turn Windows Firewall on


 

or off on the left menu in Windows


Firewall interface.
STEP 5
As Customize Settings window appears, select Turn
on Windows Firewall in Private network settings and
Public network settings. Then, check the boxes
before Notify me when Windows Firewall blocks a
new app. What's more, it is recommended to
choose Block all incoming connections, including
those in the list of allowed apps under Public
network settings. Eventually, click OK to save the
changes to the Firewall settings. (For more detailed

picture.)

Windows Firewall.

Besides, if you want to decide the apps


which will not be blocked by the Firewall,
you can follow the procedures below to
make what you want come true.
PROCEDURE 1
In the Windows Firewall window,
tap Allow an app or feature
through Windows Firewall on
the left.
PROCEDURE 2
When the next interface emerges,
select the apps and features which
you would like them to be allowed to
go through the Firewall, and then
click OK to finish the settings.
