Trickster

In mythology,  a trickster is a character in a story

(god, goddess, spirit, or human) that exhibits intelligence or secret

knowledge and uses it to play tricks. A trickster  disobeys normal rules


God Prometheus from Greek mythology

• Prometheus is a culture hero and trickster figure who is credited


with the creation of humanity from clay. Prometheus is known
for his intelligence
God Loki  from Norse mythology 

• Loki is considered a god of fire. Loki was represented as

the companion of the great gods Odin and Thor, helping

them with his intelligent plans but sometimes causing

embarrassment for them 


Eshu from African mythology

• Eshu is a trickster god of the Yoruba people of Nigeria in West


Africa. Eshu, who knows all the languages spoken on earth,
serves as a messenger between the gods and people.
Olifat from the Micronesian islands of the western Pacific

• Olifat used cleverness, and magic to obtain the food, and drink he
wanted.
Olifat was jealous of his siblings, believing them to be more
attractive than him. 
Br'er Rabbit from North American  mythology

• Br'er Rabbit represented the enslaved Africans who used their


wits to overcome adversity and to exact revenge on their
adversaries, the white slave owners.
• Anansi from African Mythology
