What is a Microsoft Account?


A personal Microsoft account that you can set up using an alternate consumer email address.
You can set this up by going to http://signup.live.com

What do I need to do?


If you are new to MEC and don’t have an Office365 account:
1. Create a Microsoft Account(using your personal email address) by going to http://signup.live.com
2. Log onto https://education.microsoft.com/ and Select Sign In

If you are a current member of MEC


• Update your account with your Office365 or Microsoft Account by going to https://aka.ms/MECAccountUpdate
• If you don’t have an Office365 or Microsoft Account, create a Microsoft Account by going to http://signup.live.com

Instructions:
1. Find a partner to work with on this activity.
2. Go to the Participant folder and open the Microsoft Resources
Exploration document.
3. Save it to your OneDrive and share it with your partner.
4. You will have 15 minutes to complete this activity.

Collaboration Activity
20 minutes
1. Create a PowerPoint or Word document about the tools you have learned so far and how you
plan to use them in your classroom. (either on different slides or as different headings in a
Word document) You will need to include the following categories :
• Forms
• Sway
E=MC2
• Accessibility
• Microsoft Educator Resources (MEC, SITC, Minecraft, MakeCode)

2. One person in the group needs to create the PowerPoint or Word Online document
and share it with the other team members

3. Based on the notes you have taken on the Reflection page, add your plans of use for each tool

4. As your team works on the document/presentation, be sure to read your teammates additions
to see if you have similar ideas.  You can use the comment or chat features to discuss your
ideas and refine the document to a collective list without any redundancies.

1. As a team, you will explore the tool assigned to you
2. In the Participant OneDrive folder, one person downloads the Word
document for their topic and then uploads in their OneDrive to share with
others in the group: 
a. Click on Share
b. Invite people- make sure "can edit" is showing
c. Invite your team members
3. You will have 30 minutes to explore the tool
4. Then each group will have 2 minutes to share the tool with the rest of the
group. How can you use this tool to hack your classroom?
