features of procedure text
• Understand about imperatives words and time
sequences.

 What is the Procedure Text?

A text that explains or shows a process in order

The social function is to tell the reader how to do or

make something through a sequence of serief.
 Generic Structure of Procedure Text

 Goal
contains information about the purpose of the text
 Materials
contains the materialsn that used the process
 Steps
contains about step or sequences that must be done so
that the goals can be achieved.
 Language Features
• Use imperative sentence (cut the paper, pres th
epower button etc.)
• Use action verbs (turn, pour, put, mix etc.)
• Use connective (then, next, while, etc.)
• Use adverbials to detail time (first, second, third for
five minutes, about 1 hour, etc.)
• Use size (a glass of water, ½ table spoon of sugar
etc.)
• Use Simple Present
