What we learned

“Be a person with palabra de honor or a man with one word”

“Palabre de honor” is a spanish term
that means “word of honor”. It refers to
a person that keeps their word.

Rizal was one such person his words

delivered throughout his works yielded
the results that he wanted.
Like Rizal we too should keep our word
and be genuine with what we say.

What we learned
“Fighting for what is right and for freedom”
Faced with the oppression and slavery the Spanish installed in the
Philippines for 300 years Jose Rizal intended to fight for not only his right,
but also his country’s right to live and to gain freedom to live in this world.

We too should fight against forces that may try to take away our freedom
because all of us earned that right because we were born into this world.

What we learned
“Be a Role Model”
Rizal is a significant figure in our
history and his morals and ideals
are still being taught to this day.

We too, should follow in his

footsteps and be an inspiration to
the future generations so that our
knowledge will be passed on.

What we learned
“Be a business minded person”
Being aware of the economy and
it’s impact in a country is important
to survive and thrive.

We should be wary of our own

economy and be able to take
chances in order to improve our
economic status.

What we learned
“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight;
It’s the size of the fight in the dog”

We learned from Rizal that no matter how

big or powerful an opponent is with given
enough time and effort they can be
conquered.

Like Rizal, we can apply that to our day to

day lives. When something challenges us
or makes us struggle as long as we stay
determined and keep moving forward we
can overcome them.

What we learned
“Knowledge is Power”

Knowledge is the most powerful tool that we can use. Like Rizal
who used his knowledge to take down an empire, so should we
acknowledge the importance and power of knowledge.

What we learned
“No mission too difficult,
no sacrifice too great”
We learned that Rizal took many turns and challenges to achieve his goal. he
would stop at nothing not even death was able to stop him. Instead, his death
fueled his people to further achieve his ideals.

We can relate this to us that if we truly want something. we should work hard, put
time and effort, and be able to sacrifice trivial things that could hold us back.
