 Overcoming different CAD practices

 INOPC CSE Hub as a single interface for various LPGs in CSE Hub.

 The objective is to achieve consistency in the drafting content

presented on the drawings.

 Common CAD practices regardless of CAD tools can be agreed upon

between various LPGs. (e.g. common layers/levels in drawings)

 CSE Hub specific CAD guideline can be enhanced/improvised in co-

ordination with various LPGs.

 Challenges:

 Creation & Implementation of a common drawing template with

standard layer/level formats.

 Language/Font barriers

 Traditional/Previous CAD practices.

 Drawing representation becomes subjective with different

LPGs/individuals.

 Writing command key-in script in Microstation

 Batch process Script for 2D drawing/3D modelling

 For creating layout or models purpose some pre-written scripts can

be developed.

 For example, if you have a cell/block (2D/3D) for equipment of any

voltage level then you can define the location of the those
equipment cell/block in the script.

 It must be ensured that all elements in the drawing file should be in

the form of block/cell.

 Advantages of Batch process script:

 The script easy to write and understand.

 The script can be command key-ins and also it can also be a

programming script like VBA or LISP.

 It saves time.

 The output is consistent and error free.

 Disadvantages of Batch process script:

 Some command key-ins for desired actions are difficult to find.

 It cannot perform logical actions as it is meant for defined actions.

 For making drawings/models all elements should be in block or cell.
