Basic Formula

soluble in oil and acidic. Ex : stearic acid,
paraffin liq, cetaceum, cera, vaselin, etc.
2. Water Phase, medicinal ingredients that are
soluble in water and alkaline. Ex : Natr,
tetraborate, TEA, NaOH, KOH, glycerin, etc

4. Humectan
Function: minimize the loss of water from the preparation and increase
skin moisture
ex: propylene glycol, sorbitol, glycerol (cons 5-20%)
5. Preservatives
Function: to prevent contamination and damage by fungi and bacteria
ex: benzoic acid, nipagine (0.12-0.18%), nipasol (0.02-0.05%)

Function: to prevent rancidity in cream preparations
Ex: vitamin E (vaitamin E)
