The Vampire Diaries

landed on the small screen in September 2009 and

fascinated us for 8 seasons and 171 episodes. Why watch this series? If you
are a fan of the supernatural, it is for you! Between vampires, witches,
werewolves, doppelgängers etc, you will find your happiness! Julie Plec has
created a whole universe around the series. Even if, at the start, the series
may seem a bit culinary, with the love story between Stefan and Elena, I
assure you that it is worth it! The intrigues of the following seasons are
very interesting, there are excellent characters (obviously, Damon is at the
top of the list, but you will also love Katherine, Klaus, Rebekah, Caroline,
Bonnie etc). Personally, my favorite character is Damon.

le th ing Does the word Doppelgänger mean anything to you? Well once you've watched

L i tt The Vampire Diaries, you won't be able to get over that word. The series has fully
exploited this myth of the evil double. While Silas and Amara have drunk

kn o w together the elixir of immortality that the witch Qetsiyah had concocted for her
and Silas, the balance of Nature is lost, because all being must die. Double
mortals by Silas and Amara have therefore been created for over a thousand
years. Through the seasons, we discover the origin of the Doppelgängers and their
role to play. As for Silas' doubles, we know Tom Avery and Stefan Salvatore; and
for Amara, we meet Tatia, Katherine and Elena. Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena,
discovers a double role to play in the first season.

We can only applaud her performance because the

actress has succeeded very well in the difficult
challenge of creating two very different personalities
and we recognize them all at once although they are
physically similar. Paul Wesley will also try the
exercise and revealed that he loved playing Silas,
who is more relaxed than Stefan. Paul Wesley has a
weakness for playing bad guys, especially enjoying
playing Stefan when he has lost his
humanity. Interpreting the immortal Silas was
therefore a real pleasure for him.
