1. System goals.
2. Identifying the elements of the system
Problem Definition:
*Goal of the project:-
The goal of the project is to analyze the existing system and design
a new improved and better system by eliminating the drawbacks of
SDF-Stamford Debate Forum
*Scope of the Project:-
Our scope to implement this system is from the top most level
administrators to the lowest level members of the community.
Goals of the system:
-- The main goal of the “SDF” system is to maintain the
community and make the balance between the administrative
figures and the members of the community. It also communicates
with other similar communities.

-- Another goal of the “SDF” system is to arrange various debate

programs, make and contribute programs schedules and store the
data of the financial condition and the member database.
Identifying the Elements of the System:

Input and Output.

Processor
Control
Feedback
Environment
Boundaries and Interface
Input and Output:
Input:-
The elements that are entered by the members or other community into the
system. The members, tools and materials are the inputs of the ‘SDF’.

Output:-
The elements that are obtained by the processing or the administrative
figures of the system. All the programs and events arranged by the community are
the outputs of the ‘SDF’
Processor:

--The processor is the element of a system that involves the

actual transformation of input into output. It is the
operational component of a system. Depending on the
specification of the output, processors may modify input
partially or totally.

-- The top most level administrators and the management

body of the “SDF” system is the processor.
Control:

The control is the element that guides the system. It is the

decision making sub-system that controls the pattern of
activities governing input, output and processing.

The administrative figures and management body

control the whole process of ‘SDF’.
Feedback:

Control is a dynamic process that is achieved by

feedback. Feedback measures the output against a
standard. Feedback may be positive or negative. Positive
feedback reinforces the performance of the system. It is a
routine change. Negative feedback encourages
modifying the system.

Feedback from the students, members and other

communities which are related to the SUCS is important
to improve the performance and service of the system.
Environment:

The environment is the ‘super system’ within the organization operates. It is the source of external elements that
enter into the system. In the ‘SDF’ system the environment are students, members, administrative figures, other
communities and teachers.

Boundaries and Interface:

A system should be defined by its boundaries - the limits that identify its components, processes and
interrelationship, when it interfaces with the other system.

The ‘SDF’ is restricted to their rules and regulations. All the activities of ‘SUCS’ are arranged in the second
campus of Stamford University Bangladesh in Shiddeswari, Dhaka.
Discussion:

The ‘SDF’ system is a fine example of a good system

and it is well arranged. The whole system is maintained
by a talented and young management body. The system
is clear about their goals, resource and their capability.
Though there are still few lacks in arranging programs
and events, but the system always has the option for
improvement. It is improving day by day and becoming
a better system to be followed.
