Asking with “HOW”
We use ‘HOW’ to ask someone about the way to do something.

For example, if you want to know the way your friend go to Bali, you can
use the question:

“How do you go there?” (Bagaimana caramu pergi ke sana?)

The answer will be:

”I go there by plane” (Saya pergi ke sana dengan pesawat)

Asking with “HOW”
Example:

1. Father goes to Toba Lake by plane.

Question : How does Father go to Toba Lake?
Answer : By plane

2. I go to school on foot
Question : How do you go to school?
Answer : On foot

DIRECTION

To ask direction, we can ask:

 Could you tell me how to go to ……………?

 Do you know where the …………………. is?

Go ahead / straight : Lurus

Turn right : Belok kanan
Turn left: Belok kiri
Cross the road : Menyebrang
Right side : Sebelah kanan/sisi kanan
Left side: Sebelah kiri/sisi kiri

REQUEST
When we want to request a help or something from other
people, we use:

“Can I ……?” or “Do you mind if I ….?”

Example:

 Can I come with you?

(Dapatkah saya ikut denganmu?)

 Do you mind if I borrow your pen?

(Apakah kamu keberatan jika saya pinjam pulpenmu?)
OFFER
When we want to offer something to other people, we use:

“WOULD YOU LIKE …………?”

Example:

 Would you like a glass of water?

(Apakah kamu mau segelas air?)

 Would you like an apple?

(Apakah kamu mau sebuah apel?)
