PAST INDEFINITE TENSE
DEFINITION:
The simple past tense is used to show an action that
happened at a certain time in the past, a habitual past
action or an unlikely event.
PAST INDEFINITE TENSE
STRUCTURES:

Affirmative: Subject + Verb (2nd) + Object.


Examples: She ate an apple.
I wrote a letter.
PAST INDEFINITE TENSE
STRUCTURES:

Negative: Subject + did + not + Verb (1st) + Object.


Examples: She did not eat an apple.
I did not write a letter.

Note: We always use first form of verb with ‘did’.


PAST INDEFINITE TENSE
STRUCTURES:

Interrogative: Did + Subject + Verb (1st) + Object+?


Examples: Did she eat an apple?
Did I write a letter?
Note: We use ‘did’ in the past tense with all the pronouns and
both singular and plural nouns.

• Copy down the given 08 Urdu sentences with black pen. Leave 2 lines after each sentence.
• Translate these sentences and write down the English translation after each Urdu sentence WITH
PENCIL.
