ADVERTISING

What is ADVERTISING?
“Advertising, generally speaking, is
the promotion of goods, services,
companies and ideas, usually
performed by an identified
sponsor”.
HISTORY OF
ADVERTISING
• Existence of that Product
“Product is a mean to satisfy
human need”.

• Existence of availability
• Advertisement is a source of
Education.
Tradition of wall paintings can
be traced back to India rock-
art paintings that goes back to
4000 BC.
Egyptians used papyrus to create
sales messages and wall posters,
while lost-and-found advertising
on papyrus was common in
Greece and Rome.
ADVERTISING is a relay
of information to
customer, distributor etc.
In 1843 the first advertising
agency was established by
Volney Palmer in
Philadelphia.

Historically, advertising
has come a long way.
Media
Media has taken a
tremendous change.
Commercial Advertising media can
include
• Wall paintings
• Billboards (outdoor
advertising)
• Street furniture
components,
• Printed flyers
• Radio
• Cinema
Printed flyers are folded
material used for
information.
Audio potentiality is more
than seeing.
Cinema is a very strong conveyer
belt.
• Television ads,
• Web banners,
• Web popups
• Skywriting
• Bus stop benches
• Magazines
• Newspapers
• Town criers
• Sides of buses
Advertising is based on the
qualities of various
technologies.
• Taxicab
• Musical stage shows
• Subway
• Platforms and trains
• Elastic bands on disposable
diapers
• Stickers on apples in
supermarkets
Any place an "identified"
sponsor pays to deliver their
message through a medium
is advertising.
We are trying to reach our
potential customers

• Educating them
• Telling them about products
• Availability of the Products
• Little Exaggeration
