RIDDLE ME THIS!! RIDDLE ME
THAT!!
I am a geometric instrument. I have two arms, one sharp and one with
a pencil that can be used to draw circles or arcs. What am I?
Answer: Compass
I am angle greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees. What am
I?
Answer: Obtuse angle
I have three sides. All my sides are equal and all my angles are equal.
Each of my angles measure 60 degrees. What am I?
Answer: Equilateral triangle
Two of the three sides I have are of equal length. The angles opposites
these equal sides are also equal. What am I?
Answer: Isosceles triangle
Step 3: Place the point of the compass at B and using the same radius
as before, draw an arc intersecting the previously drawn arc at C.
Step 4: Draw the line OD passing through C. The angle AOD is 60º,
as the triangle DOA is an equilateral triangle.
Constructing 60º angle
Constructing 30º angle
We know that:
½ of 60º = 30º
So, to construct an angle of 30º, first construct a 60º angle and
then bisect it. Often, we apply the following steps.
Step 1: Draw a line and label OA.
Step 3: Place the point of the compass at B and using the
same radius as before, draw an arc intersecting the previously
drawn arc at C.
Step 4: With the point of the compass still at B, draw an arc to
the right of O and label E
Step 5: With the point of the compass at C, draw an arc to cut
the arc drawn in Step 4 at E.
Step 3: Place the point of the compass at B and using the
same radius as before, draw an arc intersecting the previously
drawn arc at C.
Step 4: With the compass at C and the same radius, draw an
arc to the left of C at D.
Different alphabets also form the examples of angles. Some letters form
angles. Even we make different angles in different postures while doing
yoga and exercises.
