 BRIEF HISTORY
• 1960s – Star Trek introduces the idea of a tricorder
• 2007 - MIT researchers used a Nokia 770 as the basis for a
Tricorder
• 2011 - Qualcomm sponsors the Tricorder XPRIZE and is soon
launched (in 2012)
• 2014 – Google X announces a cancer-detection system
• 2015 – Scanadu releases a device called Scout but is recalled
