instrument played by pulling a bow
traditionally made of bamboo and horsehair
across metal or silk strings. The body of the
instrument is made of various hardwoods

What is interesting about the Erhu is that its


characteristic noise is made from the python
skin stretched across the body of the instrument

The Aztec death whistle Is played by blowing
into a hole near the top. The haunting instrument
was Made from clay, seashell, or animal skins.

Scholars believe it was used in rituals to ehecatl


the wind god or used in unison to scare enemies
before battle.
