Exploring Play dough

Mohammad Nur, you are such a great explorer. I have noticed that you feel
comfortable around our learning environment and like to involve yourself with
variety of activities. Today was no exception. When a group of children sat around
the table to help making play dough you were one of them. You sat with other
children eagerly watching what’s happening, when the play dough was ready you
enjoyed playing with it. I was pleased to see you exploring the texture of the play
dough using your hands. You were happily sitting and trying to feel the play dough
with your senses, even you were trying to taste and asked you friend Issa who was
sitting beside you to taste too. Watching you doing that teacher Fauzia came and
asked you not to put play dough in your mouth. Good to see that you listened to
your teacher and stopped putting play dough in your mouth.
Learning Happening: Mohammad Nur, through this activities you were developing
social skills as you were sharing and working with a group of children. Increasing
hand-eye co-ordination and fine motor which is very important to develop pincer
grip for writing skills and also you were developing all your senses as you were
trying to feel it, smell it and taste it.

What’s next?
Mohammad Nur, we will ensure that you get
plenty of opportunities to involve yourself
activities that interest you to develop your
confidence.
