on the previous API Specification 6A.

Purpose of ISO 10423

 Purpose of ISO 10423 is to identify demands and to provide suggestions for

the design, materials, welding, dimensional and functional
interchangeability, testing, marking, inspection, storing, handling,
purchasing, shipment, remanufacture and repair of wellhead and
‘christmas tree’ equipment for use in the natural gas and petroleum
industries.
 However, it does not concern field use, field testing, field repair of
wellhead and ‘christmas tree’ equipment.

 Wellhead equipment – tubing-head spools, cross-over spools, casing-head

spools, casing-head housings, tubing-head spools, multi-stage head spools
and also housings.
 Tubing and casing – slip hangers and mandrel hangers
 Loose connectors – connectors, bull plugs, valve-removal plugs, threaded
connectors, weld neck connectors, adapter and also spacer connectors
