What is descriptive text?

DEFINITION
-Descriptive text is a text which says what a
person or a thing is like. Its purpose is to
describe and reveal a particular person place or
thing
In Indonesia> Suatu jenis text yang bertujuan
untuk menjelaskan atau mendeskripsikan orang,
binatang, tempat ataupun suatu benda.
 PURPOSE

GENERIC STRUCTURE ( Struktur text)

IDENTIFICATION: THE RECOGNITION OF THE OBJECT
OR THING TO BE DESCRIBED.
In Indonesia > Pengenalan objek atau hal yang akan di
deskripsikan
DESCRIPTION: INFORMATION ON THE FEATURES OF
OBJECTS, SUCH AS PSYCHOLOGICAL PROPERTIES OF
BEHAVIOR, PHYSCIAL APPEARANCE AND THE OTHER
SPECIFICALLY.
In Indonesia > Penginformasian ciri-ciri objek, misalnya sifat-
sifat psikologis perilaku, tampilan fisik, dan yang lainnya secara
spesifik
 LANGUAGE FEATURE

DESCRIPTIVE TEXT USE:

-Simple present tense > Using the first verb (verb 1) as well as a verb that can
describe the state of the object or imply ownership, for example My house has 2
living rooms, Sinta is beautiful .
In Indonesia > Menggunakan kata kerja bentuk pertawa (verb 1) dan
juga kata kerja yang dapat menggambarkan keadaan objek atau
mengisyaratkan kepemilikan, misalnya My house has 2 living rooms, Sinta
is beautiful .
FORMULA
Positive sentence (+): S+ verb-1/be (am/is/are)
Negative sentence (-): S+auxiliary (do/does) + not + bare infinitive S +
be (am/is/are) + not
Introgative (?):
-Adjective > It use to clarify the noun
In Indonesia > Digunakan untuk mengklarifikasi kata benda
 EXAMPLE
 MY SPHINX CAT
My sphinx cat is the only pet I have. He has a little hair but is
not totally hairless as he as a peach fuzz over much of his
body. His coat is often a warm chamois. My Sphinx cat has a
normal cat proportion.
I like his tail although my mom say that it is like a rats tail. I love
his usual tortoiseshell, chocolate, black, blue, lilac, chocolate
etc. He is really an amazing cat. Believe it or not, he is very
intelligent cat. He can respond my voice commands.
He is really funny as well as my friends get a joke. I love him so
much a I love my mother.
