CUTTING FORCE

Cutting force is a force that is

generated by cutting tool as it
machines the workpiece. Data
Acquisition was used for
gathering the data of the
specific force applied from a
used material or tool.
It can also be a force sensor.

ULTRACENTRIFUGE
Ultracentrifuges are
commonly used in molecular
biology, biochemistry, and cell
biology. By using Data
Acquisition, it can acquire
light intensity readings in
which to determine the
concentration distributions.

PLANTS
Cultivating plants was in the
process of needing enough
sunlight or light intensity
which conserve its soil through
vegetation. Through data
acquisition, light intensity
coming to the plants can be
measured to determine the
suitability of soil conservation
in plants.

Signal Conditioning
Circuits
a process of data acquisition, and an instrument
called a signal conditioner is used to perform
this process. This instrument converts one type
of electrical or mechanical signal (input-signal)
into another (output-signal).

Electronics 3: Electronic Systems and Design

R.A. ALIMUIN
Signal Conditioning Circuits
It makes the transducers in its good quality and it is often between transducers and ADC. Its
circuitry can include amplification/attenuation, filtering, Wheatstone bridge completion,
excitation, linearization, calibration, and cold-junction-compensation (CJC). It protects the
equipment from potential hazards that may come through the signal path, amplifies the input
signal strength or amplitude, it also contains valid data and eliminates certain noises.

Signal Conditioning Circuits
Advantages of Data Acquisition

• Flexibility, it allows the signal conditioner to process a wider range of any signal
types in which can also lead you to more precision and calibration for the sensor.
Also, it can increase the ability to maintain, change signal conditions or replacing of
components without affecting the system.
• Isolation, it helps in filtering the unwanted noise along the signal path and eliminate
any electrostatic noise that can damage the devices connected to the sensor.
• Amplification, it can increase the resolution of the measurement, increases the input
sensor amplitude with low voltage output sensors.
• Linearization, it linearly aligned the signals to the physical measurement.
• Filtering, to eliminate unwanted frequencies for a consistent signal.
• Excitation, it has the stability and accuracy to affect the active sensors.

THERMOCOUPLES

Thermocouples are used to

measure temperature.
Signal Conditioning was used
for amplification of voltage
signals in which thermocouples
generate very low voltage
signals.

STRAIN GAUGE

With Strain Gauge having a

small quantity, Signal
Conditioning circuit like
Wheatstone Bridge can measure
it.
Strain Gauge is a device used to
measure the strain of an object
which is widely used in
industrial machine and testing
equipment like fans, generators,
propellers, etc.

LINEAR VARIABLE
DIFFERENTIAL
TRANSFORMER (LVDT)
LVDT is an electromechanical sensor
used to convert mechanical motion or
vibrations, specifically rectilinear
motion, into a variable electrical
current, voltage or electric signals, and
the reverse. With Signal Conditioning,
it generate a sinusoidal signal as an
excitation source for the primary coil in
which the output of the LVDT is an AC
waveform.

LINEAR VARIABLE
DIFFERENTIAL
TRANSFORMER (LVDT)
It is becoming the preferred technology
for critical and reliable linear
displacement measurements in
industrial, military, aerospace, subsea,
downhole drilling, nuclear power and
process control applications.
