DEFINITION
• The krebs cycle is the final common pathway for the aerobic oxidation of
carbohydrate,lipid, and protein because glucose, fatty acids, and most amino
acids are metabolized to acetyl-CoA or intermediates of the cycle.

Why is it called the krebs cycle?


The reason why it is called the krebs cycle is as a form
of appreciation to Hans Krebs, a scientist from Germany
who is the inventor of this krebs cycle.

• The krebs cycle occurs in the mitochondrial matrix and briefly consists of 8 stages
