 Total marks : 150 [75 (Mentor)+ 75 (Mentor/HOD/External)]
 To be done after completion of 4th Semester – before 31st July or
within two months after commencement of Academic year
 4 Week Training (this year, instead of 6 weeks)
 Maintaining Industrial Diary is a must. Get it evaluated by
mentor from time to time.
 Read MSBTE circular for guidelines क्र. मरातंशिमं/का-५०/Industrial
Training/2020/2191 Dt. 27 May 2020.
 Industrial Training – Options
Option 1:
 Student should study the profile of company – Vision, Mission,
Quality policy, etc.
 Study one project (undertaken) of the industry.
 Study programme specific industrial process through various
educational websites, YouTube, other learning platforms, etc.
 Study the material given by mentor and solve the assignments/tasks.
 Total work – 4 weeks.
 Industrial Training – Options
Option 2:
 Students may take up any online course from NPTEL, Swayam,
Internshala, etc. recognized programs of AICTE for completion of
training. [4 weeks]. Submit certificate of course completion.
 Seek guidance of respective mentor in this case.
Option 3:
 Students may take up Work from Home Online Industrial Training and
assignments offered by renowned companies like Tata, Mahindra &
Mahindra, Godrej, etc. [4 weeks]. Submit certificate of course
completion.
 Seek guidance of respective mentor in this case.
 Industrial Training – What students should do?
 Maintain a diary of 50-100 pages. Write all points relevant to the
training and project report.
 Contact mentor through email/WhatsApp group for doubts
clarification.
 Submit/show diary or progress of work to mentor weekly.
 Solve the assignments, if given.
 Take feedback, note it down and work accordingly.

 Week 1:

1. Pick one company – Write the Vision and Mission statement,


Quality Policy.
2. Study the organization chart of the company (Draw hierarchy if
possible)
3. Study different posts - Chairman, Director, Manager, CEO, other
positions., their roles and responsibilities.
4. General study of company – its location, history, product range, size,
number of employees, turnover, etc.
Summarize the work done – Show it to mentor.

 Week 2:

1. Study the layout and specifications of major machines, equipment


and raw materials/components used. (Collect the names, images
(reference), make tables, if needed).
2. Study of production/manufacturing process alongwith production
planning and control procedures. (Look the process and make use of
YouTube to study it)

 Week 3:

1. Study of testing and quality assurance processes – ( Search Quality


policy of the company; Study TQM (Total Quality Management),
Kaizen, Kanban, Six Sigma, Lean manufacturing, PokaYoke, JIT, (Ex.
Toyota Production System), VSM (Value Stream Mapping))
2. Study of preventive and breakdown maintenance & safety practices
adopted in industry. (Definitions, when maintenance is carried out, why
is it necessary, steps involved in it; Safety practices – Fire extinguishers,
protective equipments, layout of machines, floor area, sunlight,
ventilations, proper tools and equipments, material handling
equipments, etc. )

 Industrial Training – Weekly tasks
 Week 4:Report writing
• Summarize the data properly.
• Structure the report – Content, Diagrams, Tables, Charts,
Assignments, etc.
• Collect operational/safety manual (if possible).
• One video – to study the process of the industry involved.

• References – Must; Note down all websites and sources from


where data is collected.
• Write a report.

Summarize the work done – Show it to mentor.
