THE OWNER
• Zain Ashraf is the Founder & President of Seed Out, Pakistan's
first crowd funding platform
• Seed Out has a 97% repayment rate and has helped 1100+ local
families establish small businesses.
• In 2018, Ashraf won the Commonwealth Youth Award for his
efforts in development work.
• He is also serving as Pakistan's 1st Prime Minister's National
Youth Council Member since 2019
WHAT BASICALLY SEED OUT IS?
• People who are in financial crises but have an idea that can
contribute to their livelihood
• The aim is to end poverty by establishing micro-entrepreneurs
through interest free micro-financing
• It enables an individual to pool money into a fundraising
project through a website. Typically, small amounts of money
are raised from a large number of people via the internet and
online payment methods.
BENEFITS
• Increase in the household income
• A reduction in the need for child labor
• Reduction in contagious diseases
• Empowerment of minorities
HOW DOES IT WORK?
• A process where a borrower becomes a donor
• Generous donors, passionate fundraisers, and partner
organizations help fund our operating costs
• Connections between borrowers and donors are made cost-
effectively and without intermediary interference.
• The donor gets to track the complete process
• Instead of helping just by giving cash, the company sets up
proper and permanent source of income for the borrowers
through adequate resources such as training as well.
• Once recovered installments are received, the recovered money
is thus reinvested to raise more entrepreneurs.
WHO CAN RECEIVE THIS CROWFUNDING?
• Borrowers in all kind of businesses
• They can be shopkeepers, mechanics, farmers, or in a
completely different field of work
• People who are unable to access fair or affordable source of
credit.
INSPIRATION?
• They provide something for your investment so you do not feel
like that they are begging. Same thing with crowd funding. It
really depends upon how the campaign is raising money
• It empowers people. Gives them the financial freedom they need.
• Pakistan’s female labor force rate is only 25%, thus loans to
divorced and/or widowed women are provided on a priority basis.
• In short, sustainable income generation enables our micro
entrepreneurs to be drivers of their lives, rather than mere
recipients of charity.
