TOPIC: HANDBALL

SUBJECT: PHYSICAL EDUCATION


ISLAMIC INTEGRATION

• ALLAH( Almighty) expects Muslims to take care of


their bodies to the best of their abilities.
• Allah likes strong (Qawi) Muslims more.
• While bad health and disease are often beyond our
control, we must take the precautions available to us
to maintain our physical health.
OBJECTIVE OF PLAYING HANDBALL

• The objective is to throw a ball into the opposing


team’s goal to score more points.
• Two teams attempt to gain victory which is the object
of the game.
• The objective is to prevent other team from getting
hold of the ball.
• The team with more goals at the end of the game is
declared as the winner
HANDBALL


Handball is a fast-paced team game played by two teams.


Players learn to cooperate with each other.


A game must be tough but in accordance with the fair play rules, team work and a
sportsmanlike conduct.


Coordination, creative techniques, tactical skills, combined with a good team
spirit are the characteristics of this attractive sport.

  
NATURE OF HANDBALL GAME

• It is played by two teams of 7 players each including


a goal keeper and 5 substitutes.
• The game is started by a throw-off at the center of the
court.
EQUIPMENTS
HANDBALL SIZE

• IHF Size 1: 50-52 cm and 290 to 330 gm – for


women’s youth (8 to 14 years)
COURT DIMENSIONS
BASIC RULES OF THE GAME

• You can touch the ball with every part of your body,
except feet.
• You can hold the ball only for 5 seconds.
• You can only take 3 steps with the ball.
• You are not allowed to stay inside the goal area line
(except for the goal keeper).
BASIC HANDBALL SKILLS
• Considering activities which are performed on the court,
handball technique is divided into:

• This is one of the basic, technical skill.


• A pass must be accurate and fast.
• Accurate, so that a player has no problems when
catching the ball.

The Goalkeeper’s Play

The basic element of the goalkeeper’s play are: 


• Posture
• Moving
• Using hands (upper balls)
• Using legs (lower balls)
• Using trunk

 
SCORING

 You Score by throwing the ball into the net on


your side.
 Each goal is worth 1 point.
 The game consists of two halves.
 An average score is 26-21
CONCLUSION

• The players must follow all the fair play rules and
sports regulations in order to keep the game
sportsmanlike.
• A short quiz will be conducted in a live class.
