•Wipro Technologies started off in the earlier part of last century
primarily as a producer of edible oils.
•It was then known as Western India Vegetable Products Ltd.
•In the 1970’s the company decided to expand into the computing
business and by 1975 Wipro had created India’s first homegrown
computer.
•By 1981 they had launched their own hardware company and
changed their name to Wipro Limited as we now know it today.
•In 1984 they decided to change to software production before
changing definitely in 1990 to focus on software services
-Wipro Ltd. is a company that sells soaps, light bulbs, hydraulic machinery, and
vegetable oil. But most importantly, it provides technical support, writes and edits
software, and is an outsourcing company.
