◦ Wrapping the latissimus dorsi muscle around the heart and
electrostimulating it in synchrony with venticular systole.
Nursing Management
 Administer medications
◦ Cardiac glycosides, Diuretics, Angiotensin-converting enzyme
inhibitors, Vasodilator theraphy, Antilipidemics
 Monitor heart rate and rhythm – through the multilumen pulmonary
artery catheter
 Weigh the client daily
 Monitor serum electrolyte levels daily
 Reduce myocardial workload
 Maintain adequate fluid balance
 Diet : low sodium
 Asses response to medical therapies
