What is a verb and its types?
A verb is a word which is used to show action or state.
Two Types of Verbs:
1. Action verbs: They show action.
Ahmad plays soccer every weekend.
The student opened the window.
2. State verbs: They show state of being.
I am a teacher.
The lady in blue dress is a university professor.
I feel happy today.
She looks beautiful today.
What is a verb and its types?
[Have/love/feel/sound/look/agree/disagree/seem/hate] are
examples of non-action verbs.
Have can be both action and non-action verb.

I have a black-windowed car. (Non-action)


I am having an argument with my father. (Action)
What is the present simple tense?
The present simple tense is used to talk about an action that
happens regularly.
Subject + verb + complement/object
I go to the library every weekend to read books.
She plays chess every morning.

I do not go the library every weekend.


She does to play chess every morning.
What is the present progressive tense?
The present progressive is used to talk about an action that is
happening right now.
Subject + be verb + verb-ing + complement/object
I am typing a document now.
She is teaching math to her children.

I am not typing a document now.


She is not teaching math to her children.
