Plan of action for resolving the


communication issues in Brownlee & smith
Introduction
 Business communication is the communication between
the people in the organization for the purpose of
carrying out business activities. It may be oral, verbal,
written etc..

 A business can flourish when all objectives of the


organization are achieved effectively. For efficiency in
an organization all the people (inside and outside) of
the organization must be able to convey their message
properly. The exchange of ideas and understanding
within and outside the organization to achieve the
business goals is known as business communication.
Key issues of communication identified in
Brownlee & Smith
 Management should focus on recruitment .
 Should consider prior experience
 No proper training
 No Performance evaluation
 No feedback given
 Time management skills
 People management skills (in terms of communication)
 No briefing sessions conducted
 Middle management failed to communicated leaving a
communication gap between the top management and
the employees
 Upward and downward communication failure
Plan to resolve the communication issue in Brownlee & Smith

 Enhance Internal communication that happens within the


organisation.
 There should be a shared location in the system that will
allow the staffs to know the appointments of the partners .
 Managers should be trained on formal communication
 Staffs should understand their roles and responsibilities to be
more effective.
 Managers should give Feedback in regular intervals and when
situation demands
 Managers should conduct performance review very often
 Allocate a mentor to guide & help the new employees
 PEP- Performance enhancement program for low perfomers
 Conducting daily briefing session

 Training and evaluating the new employee’s


is essential
 Alison should be under the supervision of

with the learning curve
 she should be evaluated by her performance

and provide her feedback.

communication (E.g.: Feedback, Meetings,


formal communication)
Conclusion

 Due to the communication issues in Brownlee & Smith


faced a lot of issues like interruption in the daily
operation of the organisation and lead to lot of
confusions. This report has analysed the key issues that
has interrupted the flow of the day to day operation in
the organisation. The measures to be take for Brownlee
& Smith has also illustrated in this report. The report
has also provided vital guidelines for the manager on
how to lead effective meeting and documentation needs
to meet the organisations standards. The report has
spotted the importance of business communication
which can make or break a business.
