WORLD LITERATURE
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
World Literature is a three-unit
course designed to develop an
intellectual understanding of
human life and experiences
through the world masterpieces.
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
As further prescribed by
the Commission on Higher
Education, the course
gives emphasis to literary
texts and authors in
Southeast Asia.
COURSE DESCRIPTION…
Thus, a major requirement of the
course is a term paper of at least
five pages that analyzes a piece
written by the Southeast Asian
authors.
COURSE/SUBJECT OUTCOMES
At the end of the semester, the
students must have:
1.developed clear understanding
of significant literary concepts;
2.developed love for reading
literary pieces;

3.analyzed literary pieces from various


continents of the world;
4.gained deeper understanding of the
relationship between the literary
piece and the historical period it was
written, and the culture of the
society it reflects;

critical, and application skills; and
6. expressed their appreciation of
life from the aesthetic, intellectual,
social, and moral values they
gained from literary pieces.
