Working From Home: The New Norm For The Oil and Gas Industry
Working From Home: The New Norm For The Oil and Gas Industry
The Pro’s
The main benefit in having Expat Operations Support
Personnel based in the Office is that there is a direct
contact between the Offshore Operations and
Onshore Coordinators.
They are able to contact local materials suppliers,
organize specialist contractors, expedite delivery via
choppers or supply boats. In short whatever is
required Offshore is directly supported by the
Onshore Support Team.

Pro’s and Con’s
The Con’s
The disadvantage’s of having Expat Operations Support based
in the Office are many:-
They Cost a lot of money and command high salaries.
They need rotational air flights.
They need work permits that also cost money and need
time to process.
They need accommodation.
They need transport or drivers
They need medical insurance.
In many countries there are Covid 19 travel restrictions.
They are available outside office hours and even at
weekends.
