INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Look at the number of your paper. Move with your classmates with
the same number.
2. With group mates, categorize the phrases into two categories: a.
Gerunds, b. Infinitives
3. Using your cellphones, you may scan the QR Codes to get some
clue on how to categorize the phrases.
4. The class shall only work for 5 minutes.
5. They shall post their answers on a Manila Paper and then mount it
on the front of the class.
KEY POINT: GERUND

A gerund is usually defined as a word


ending in –ing that is formed from a verb
and that functions as noun specifically used
as a subject, a subjective complement, an
object of the preposition, a direct object,
and appositive.

KEY POINT: INFINITIVE

Infinitives are the “to” form of the verb. The


infinitive form of the “learn” is “to learn”. You can
also use infinitive as the subject, the complement, or
the object of the sentence.
