Data analysis

By sharral gichki
Data Analysis
 Evaluate data using analytical, logical
reasoning to examine component of data
provided
Considerations In Data Analysis
• Having the necessary skills to analyze
• Concurrently selecting data collection methods and
appropriate analysis
• Drawing unbiased inference
• Inappropriate subgroup analysis
• Following acceptable norms for disciplines
• Determining statistical significance
• Lack of clearly defined and objective outcome
measurements
• Providing honest and accurate analysis
• Manner of presenting data
• Environmental issues
• Data recording method
• Partitioning text when analyzing qualitative
data
• Training of staff conducting analyses
• Reliability and validity
• Extent of analysis
Statistical Data Analysis
• Statistics is a science of counting, estimation,
probality
• Types
• Absolute error : difference between true
value and estimated value
• Relative error : ratio between absolute error
to the true value
• Central tendency : Single values that
represents all individual values of the data
• Measure of central tendency : Method of
formula to calculate single value as
representive of data
• Types
• Arithmetic mean
• Geometric mean
• Harmonic mean
• Median
• Mode
Types of central tendency
• Arithmetic mean : Sum of value divided by
numbers of value
• A.M =sum of values
no of values
• Geometric mean : Square root of product of
values
• G.M = 1/n(X1*X2….Xn)
• Harmonic mean : Reciprocal of value
A.M = Σx
n
• Median : The central value of the data, if the
total no is odd then the formula will be :
• Median = n+1
n
• Mode : Mode is the most frequently occuring
score or value
T test
• T test compares two means and tells the
difference from each other
