APPOINTMENT LETTER
In any contract there must be OFFER
and ACCEPTANCE .
OFFER OF APPOINTMENT

Offer of appointment when given is usually on


probation and can be confirmed on the 2nd
anniversary if the officer has been hardworking
and his performance evaluation form has been
filled to reflect that, the officer has not been
given query and indicted of grievous offence
and has served diligently for two years.
CONFIRMATION OF APPOINTMENT
An officer having served satisfactorily for two (2) years is
eligible for confirmation document needed are offer of
appointment letter
1. 2copies of letter of appointment /offer of appointment
2. 2copies of assumption of duty certificate
3. 2copies of Aper/SPADEV Form
4. General 75 with Stamp
5. Record of Service
6. 2 Guarantor Bond with Letter of Recommendation
TYPE OF LEAVE IN THE
PUBLIC SERVICE
1. Annual Leave
2. Maternity/Paternity Leave
3. Study leave with pay

Annual Leave
In applying for annual leave you must at least give
2weeks notice before the leave can be granted.

01-03 14 working days


4- 7 21 working days
8-17 30 working days
Maternity/Paternity Leave
A female officer who is pregnant is
entitle to 24 weeks of maternity leave
with full pay in case of first two
deliveries born.

Paternity Leave
Is the authorized absence from duty
to serving male officer who a new
baby/babies (Multiple Birth) is born
or adopted all to maximum of ten
(10) days approval is subjected to
presentation of child’s certificate or
letter of release.
STUDY LEAVE
WITH/WITHOUT PAY
Study leave with pay: is the leave granted to
a confirmed serving officer to undertake an
approve course of study within or outside the
country
study leave without pay: full time
programme at the instance of the officer shall
attract leave without pay
a. Officer not entitled to emoluments and
allowance
b. Duration leave without pay shall be more
than four (4) years in the first instance,
after which officer can apply for one (1)
year extension if the need arises
c. The period of study shall not be regarded
as break in service
LEAVE OF ABSENCE
Is the absence from duty authorized on grounds of
public policies. All such leave shall not be approve
without pay by the commission
PROMOTION
 All officer who are eligible for promotion shall be
considered accept those under disciplinary action.

EXIT FROM SERVICE
 RESIGNATION: where an officer has not served for
5years, but when decides to leave the service, He should
be required to give one month’s notice of his intention
to leave or pay one month’s salary in lieu of notice
 WITHDRAWAL: an officer who has serviced for 5
years , but less than 1o years decides to leave the
service, he/she is deemed to have withdrawn from the
service, withdrawal involve one month notice or
payment of one month salary in lieu of notice
RETIREMTENT
 Where an officer has
serviced her 10 years or
more and decided to
leave the service. He/She
is deemed to have retired
the period of notice
required is six (6)
months or payment of
their month’s salary in
lieu of notice.
