MPI OF THE WEEK

PGR - CCU
 A 46 year old female , known hypertensive for the past 10
years taking antihypertensive medication irregularly and a
known diabetic for the past 4 years taking oral hypoglycemic
drugs with good blood sugar control had an episode of chest
pain .
 Ecg showed t wave inversions in lateral leads
 She was referred for a stress myocardial perfusion imaging
scan
Questions
 What are the findings in the MPI scan ?
 What is the diagnosis ?
 What treatment options will you offer to the patient ?
 A 37 year old male , known smoker for the past 10 years
presented to the ER with severe chest pain
 Ecg showed myocardial infarction and subsequently
thrombolysis was done with Streptokinase
 Coronary angiography could not be done in 24 hours due to
logistic reasons and patient was referred for a stress MPI
Questions
 What are the findings of the MPI scan
 What is the diagnosis
 What are some of the other reasons in which such an MPI
scan can be seen ?
 What is the most probable radiotracer used ?
