SMART GOALS
• Do you ever feel like you are working hard but not going
anywhere?
• Most people spend their lives running around trying to get
more done while actually accomplishing very little. Setting
smart goals means you can clarify your ideals, focus your
efforts, use your time and resources productively, and increase
your chances of achieving what you want in life.
WHAT DOES SMART MEAN?
• Specific (simple, sensible, and significant)
• Measurable (meaningful or motivating)
• Achievable (agreed or attainable)
• Relevant (reasonable, realistic, and results based)
• Time (time-based, time limited, and timely)
SPECIFIC
• ASK YOUSELF THESE QUESTIONS:
• What do I want to accomplish?
• Why is this goal important?
• Who is involved?
• Where is it located?
• Which resources are involved?
MEASURABLE
• A measurable goal should address questions:
How Much?
How Many?
How will I know when it is accomplished?
ACHIEVABLE
• An achievable goal will usually answer questions such as:
• How can I accomplish the goal?
• How realistic is the goal?
• When?
• What can I do six months from now?
• What can I do six weeks from now?
• What can I do today?
