 Introduction:
Once a person receives Jesus Christ as
his Lord and Savior, he is given a new
heart and a new spirit. Regeneration o
r new birth called being reborn is exp
erienced by that person. It means, he
or she becomes born again and therefor
e a new creation.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyo

How to begin our Year 2
021 with a new heart an
d a new spirit?
I. Allow God to Give us
A NEW HEART (v. 26)
Ezekiel 36:26
A new heart also will I give you, and
a new spirit will I put within you: and
I will take away the stony heart out of
your flesh, and I will give you an hear
t of flesh. (KJV)

Ezekiel 36:26
And I will give you a new heart, and
I will put a new spirit in you. I will
take out your stony, stubborn heart and
give you a tender, responsive heart.

This restoration involves giving them
a new heart that is tender as a flesh
so that they will respond to God's Wo

Psalms 51: 7-11
 Proposition:
God wants in us a "new heart
"not just a changed heart, a
nd
a "regenerated life" not just
a reformed life.
II. Allow God to Put
A NEW SPIRIT in us
(v.26)

"And I will put my spirit within you", refe
rs both to Regeneration, as carried out by t
he Holy Spirit at the time of one being Born
Again, and also to the Baptism with the Holy
Spirit, which was first evidenced on the Day
of Pentecost (Acts 2:1-4).
The entrance of the Holy Spirit is made poss
ible solely by the Cross of Christ (John 14:
17), and the "Statutes" and "Judgments" fall
into the same category. In other words, one
can keep those by and through the Power of t
he Holy Spirit, who works exclusively withi
n the framework of the finished work of Chri
st, which demands the constant faith of the
believer.

 Conclusion:
God didn't plan a cheap life for
us. His plan is great and beyond
our understanding but He gave us
a new heart and a new spirit so
we can know His plan and purpose
. We can serve Him better and lo
ve Him more once the Holy Spirit
open up our understanding. Pray
to God to reveal Himself to you
personally.
