Telecommunication
It is used for data exchange between two entities that includes,
the use of technology. For broadcasting information the
technology uses electromagnetic waves or a physical medium.

For eg: we can take Internet as a larger scale. When we look into
smaller scale, we can choose

Telephone networks
Amateur radio operators
Corporate wide area networks
Fire communication systems
Telecommunication

Basically, you know how data is conveyed? It is conveying

using electrical signals known as carrier wave or carrier. For
carrying information we need some modulation, it is
categorized as digital or analog.
Telecommunication
network
It is a bunch of links, terminal nodes or any other terminal
nodes, so that it is able to enable telecommunication
between two terminals. Finally, links from the transmission
connect the nodes together.
Basic Elements – Telecommunication System
• Transmitter

 It act as an information source, taking information then

convert into a signal for transmission. It produces radio waves
with the support of antenna, in the form of
telecommunication and electronic systems.

• Receiver

 The task of receiver is to receive the signals and converts into

required method. The information may be in the form of audio
or video or digital signals
Basic Elements –
Telecommunication System
•Components

Computers for processing information

To send or receive data using terminals or any input/output
data
For managing network use communication software
For reception and data transmission, get support from
communication processors
Basic Elements –
Telecommunication System
•Signals

Data travels via telecommunication systems uses analog and

digital electromagnetic signals
Analog used for voice communication via communication
medium
Digital transmits data as bit format such as one bit and zero
bits
Requirements for Voice
