OUR LAKE NAINITAL
• Highly eutrophic/ polluted nutrient rich water body with
blooms of algae for major part of the year
• The transparency in the lake is very poor
• Hypolimnion is devoid of oxygen
• Concentrations of ammonia, hydrogen sulfide and
methane very high
• Blue green algae predominates in the lake
• Look bottom becomes anoxic during the time of
overturn
• Lake experiences mass mortality of fishes especially
during winters
• The water of the lake is not suitable for drinking
purpose
Solution

The aeration of the lake is the only remedy

to control the pollution and thus restore the
lake ecosystem
Benefits of Aeration
• Increases transparency of lake
• Decreases the concentrations of toxic gases like
carbon dioxide. Ammonia, hydrogen sulphide and
methane
• Decreases the production of algae thus increasing the
transparency of lake water
• Replaces the undesirable flora and fauna and leads to
the development of desirable life forms in the water.
• Creates conditions suitable for the growth and
breeding of environment friendly fish species like
mahseer
• Increases the concentrations of dissolved Oxygen in
the lake.
• Restores the lake ecosystem completely.

INSTALLATION OF DISK IN LAKE
Non Aerated Pond Kinetics
In absence of oxygen:
• Fish are limited to the Epilimnion
layer.
• Anaerobic bacteria slowly digest
sludge.
• Nutrients stay in the water column.

Results: Poor water quality

High BOD, algae, odours, unhealthy sludge,
dead fish, poor water clarity
What Bottom Oxygenation Does
IN THE PRESENCE OF OXYGEN:

• Organic waste from man’s activities

becomes food.

• Bacteria, Aquatic Insects Snails,

Worms, and Fish convert unwanted
waste.

• Water Quality dramatically

improves: BOD reduction, Odor
elimination, reduced algae, better
water clarity, nutrients reduction,
thermocline elimination.

• The living cycle is created through

bottom oxygenation which is the
vital link for sludge digestion and it’s
build up.
Natures Scavengers

When oxygen exists along the bottom of a lake or reservoir, important biota,
all feeders, can live, eat and eliminate the organic sludge the natural way.

By bringing oxygen to the bottom, ADS fine

bubble aeration systems allow new aerobic
scavengers to feed on the sludge, eliminating
it the natural way…
…These scavengers are eaten by bigger
predators and ultimately predated on by man,
completing the ecosystem cycle.
Introducing oxygen
• Recognized leader in aeration systems from small
lakes to giant reservoirs for over fifteen years.

• Air is introduced artificially to die-cut, bottom laid

tubing using large ADS Disk module.

• Fine bubbles emitted from the tubing form a curtain

of gently rising air which will pump the “dead water”
to the surface without lifting sediment. This is called
“LAMINAR FLOW”.

• Highest pumping rate in the industry (22MGD @ 15’

of water depth per LTC diffuser).

• This circulation of oxygenated water virtually

eliminates odors & anaerobic conditions. It promotes
growth of bacteria, snails, worms and fish for the
FOOD CHAIN.
Outstanding results

(from left to right, highly oxidized, slightly oxidized, initial sample)

Typical observed water testing shows:

• Increased dissolved oxygen concentrations

throughout the entire water column.
• Increased availability of habitat for all fish
species (warm and cold).
• pH is homogenous and stabilized.
• Temperatures are homogenous throughout
the entire water column.
