DESIRABLE
FEATURES
DESIRABLE FEATURES OF TOASTER
 Accurate settings
When you make toast, you want to know what
you're getting each time. A quality toaster is
consistent and precise, so that you can get your
bread products exactly the way you want them.
This is especially important first thing in the
morning.
Look for toasters that have accurate and precise
settings. These can vary among the type of toaster
you're looking at, but you want one that can
deliver the exact toast you want every time.

 2. Slot sizes
A bagel is a different width than a slice of bread and a slice of
pumpernickel may be a different shape than white bread. Make sure
the toaster you invest in has slot sizes that can accommodate a
variety of bread types and sizes so that you can make frozen waffles
as well as a club sandwich.
 3. Anti-jam and safety features
Even the best toasters can jam every once in a while. The key is for
the toaster to recognize a jam and shut itself down. This automatic
shutdown feature can prevent burning and even fire. Look for a
toaster that boasts safety features and aspects that prevent jamming
in the first place.

4. Simple retrieval
Nobody likes getting a slice of bread stuck in the toaster,
but if it does happen, your toaster should be able to help
you out of it. Make sure you get a toaster that pushes your
toast high enough up that you can pick it up with ease and
don't have to risk injury first thing in the morning just to
grab your toast.
5. Easy to clean
Some toasters are easier to clean than others. No one
wants a toaster that's full of bread crumbs and smells burnt
every time it's used. Instead, choose a toaster that has
an easy-to-use crumb tray, a cleanable exterior and any
other features that make cleaning simple.

 6. Stylish appearance
Function may be first on your list, but this
toaster will be in your kitchen. Spend
time looking for a toaster that matches or
complements your kitchen's design and
your own style.
CONSTRUCTION
MATERIALS
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS OF
TOASTER
  Heating element :The heating elements heat up everything around them,
including the bread. If the bread is close to the heating element for the right
amount of time, it turns a light brown color and turns into toast.
 Lever: with this handle the bread or the slits are lowered.
 Slices: they are used to serve bread and can be toasted.
 Tray: It is not available in all models, however, it is useful for
emptying the crumbs that remain.
 Moderation button: Is the one that finishes toasting the bread if
the estimated time has elapsed.
 Knob: serves to moderate the time and also the roasting
temperature.

 Wire rack: supporting the bread; toasting is done on both sides at once.
 An electromechanical or electronic timing mechanism : pops up
the toast and switches off the heater after a length of time determined by
the browning control. Additional controls may optionally allow this time to
be modified for toasting frozen bread or reheating toast
RULES AND
GUILDLINES FOR
USE, MAINTAINCE
AND STORAGE
RULES
Never stick anything into a toaster – you’ll be risking a severe
electric shock.
Make sure you clean out the crumb tray frequently. This will help
keep your toaster working properly and prevent fire.
If you notice an odd smell or any sparking, unplug the toaster
immediately and contact the retailer and/or manufacturer.
Always store the toaster away from the sink or any liquids that could
spill on it.
When the toaster is turned off at the socket or unplugged, wipe the
toaster down regularly, but never use water or any sort of cleaner
inside it.
If it’s cracked or damaged in any way, stop using it and either
contact the retailer and/or manufacturer or buy a new one.
Always turn off the toaster at the socket when not in use.
GUIDLINES

Slide one slice of bread into each toaster slot. You can also toast just one
slice of bread. In this case, choose a slot, and slide it in. The direction you
orient the slice in the toaster doesn't matter, but most people like to insert it
bottom-first. You can toast many things other than bread but stick to toasting
bread slices until you are more comfortable using the appliance.

Set
 the toasting level. Use the adjustment knob on the front of the appliance
to choose how dark you want the toast to be. On most toasters, the dial runs
from 1 to 5, with 1 being the lightest, and 5 being the darkest.
Consider setting the dial somewhere in the middle: 2 or 3. This way, if the

toast is not dark enough, you can always toast it again.
Some toasters have other settings, such as light, medium, or dark.

Other toasts have options for waffles, toast, and bagels. In this case, choose

the setting that best matches whatever it is that you're toasting.

Lower the
 lever to start the toasting cycle. Wait for the food to toast.
Keep your nose peeled to smell for burning! The toasting process should
not take longer than a minute or two, depending on how dark you want the
toast. Even though the toaster is timed and will pop the bread out on its
own, you should never leave it unattended. If the bread starts to burn,
you'll have to pop it manually.
To pop the toaster manually, hold the top corner of the toaster down while

you lift the lever up. You should only do this if things start to burn,
however.

Remove the food. When the lever pops back up, it means that the toasting
cycle is done. The toaster may "ding." Take the toast out using your fingers
or a set of wooden tongs. Then, put your favorite spread onto your toast
before consuming.Never use anything metal to take the toast out, or you
may electrocute yourself.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
 How do maintain and clean a toaster
 Unplug the Toaster
 Before you start with the cleaning process, make sure that
you unplug the toaster. If you have used the toaster just a few
minutes ago, make sure that you let the toaster cool down to
avoid any burn injuries
 Remove the Crumbs
 Cleaning the breadcrumbs from the base of the toaster is a
difficult task. This is the reason why almost all the toasters
today come with a removable crumb tray. So, before you
start cleaning the toaster, make sure that you slide the crumb
tray and clean the crumbs and gently shake the toaster
to remove the crumbs that may be trapped in the toaster.
CONTINUE
 Scrub the Toaster
 After removing the crumbs, make sure you scrub and wipe down
the surface of the pop-up toaster that needs special attention. Avoid
using the scrubs that you use for utensils to clean the toaster.  Wash
the toaster with warm and soapy water. Make sure that you dry the
toaster completely using a towel and slide back the crumb tray in
the toaster.
 Clean the Outside of the Toaster
 Make sure that you wipe clean the sides, top and the
bottom of the toaster. In case you have a stainless steel
toaster, you can use vinegar or ammonia instead of soap
and a clean cloth to maintain the shine of the toaster.

Storage Area of toaster

 The toaster is regularly used, so it is
important to know where to put it in the kitchen. The
most convenient spot for it to be placed should be near
the range of users. For many people, the perfect place is
where the coffee ingredients are located. For some,
it can be where the bread and jam are accessible.
