BSC6900 Initial Configuration

 The definition of Initial Configuration :

 After the BSC6900 is initially installed, prepare and configure data based on
the hardware configuration of the BSC6900, network planning, and
negotiation between the RNC and other equipment. Then, you can obtain an
MML script in .txt format.
 The data in the MML script must be complete, consistent, and valid. After
the script is executed, a data file is generated and then loaded onto the RNC
host. The RNC then starts to work properly. For details, refer to the RNC
Commissioning Guide.

 RNC Initial Configuration tool:

 LMT
 CME

HUAWEI TECHNOLOGIES CO., LTD. Huawei Confidential Page 6

Application Scenarios of MML

 Deployment
 During the deployment, engineers should configure BSC6900 data
configuration script according to the negotiation data for stand alone
BSC6900 during initial setup and run the script by MML commands in
batches.
 Modify data in batch mode
 When the RNP or RNO engineers need to modify mass incumbent
BSC6900 configuration data, they can modify BSC6900 configuration
data through running MML command script in batch mode.
 Modify a few configuration data
 When a few configuration data need to be modified, every single MML
command can be run to execute the function.

TMSI: Temporary Mobile Station Identity

A temporary mobile station identification assigned by the MSC. It is stored in
the VLR and the SIM and used by the MS to originate and receive calls.

P-TMSI: Packet- Temporary Mobile Station Identity

Used as a shorter, more private, mobile identifier. Identifies the system that
assigned it, and not directly the MS.Packet-TMSI is allocated by the SGSN
and used for GPRS access only.

OSP code (WNF, DNF):

Whole Number Format: As a whole number, the OSP code can be
expressed by a decimal digit or a hexadecimal digit. If the OSP code is
expressed by a hexadecimal digit, H‘ is added before the number.
Divided Number Format: Divided OSP code. Input format is 8-8-8(BIT24),
3-8-3(BIT14)
 Switch of Restart function
The status of route that the signaling point saved may be inconsistent with the network’s,
because the status of network changed, if the signaling point disconnected to the network. In
this situation, if recover the services immediately, there will be some problems. The Restart
Function is the way to protect the status, at that time, MTP has time to activate enough links
and interact enough route data, and then, recover the services.
