The document discusses how praying as a family can help keep a family united. It identifies six characteristics that families who pray together share: humility, sharing in God's name, receiving God's provision, having God dwell in their home through faith and love, maintaining integrity through being rooted in love, and experiencing God's abundance which exceeds all they could ask for. Praying as a family in humility and for both needs and "big things" allows God to strengthen the family bonds and bring them together through faith.

STAY TOGEGHER.(1) Ephe. 3:14-21 Pst. E S Kartagi Introduction: • A little boy was spending the night at grandma and grandpa’s house. Kneeling beside his bed with his grandparents he softly said hid prayers: “Dear God, please bless Mummy and Daddy and all the family. Thank you for letting me stay with grandma and grandpa tonight bless them and please give us all a good night’s sleep.” Suddenly he looked up and shouted, “And dear God please don’t forget to give me a bicycle for my birthday!!” • “There is no need to shout like that,” said his grandmother. “God isn’t deaf.” “No” said the little boy, “but Grandpa is. I want to be sure he heard me too.”… The Family that Prays Together Stays Together… • WE are going to look at six characteristics of Paul’s prayer for the Ephesians that we can apply to our families: • Humility • Name • Provision • Home • Integrity and • Abundance. 1. FAMILY HUMILITY • V.14. “For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
• God resists the proud. But gives grace to the
humble.” (James 4:6). • “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray ad seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Taw. 7:14). • THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY SHARE A FAMILY “HUMILITY”… 2. FAMILY NAME • V. 14,15; “For this reason I bow knees to the Father…from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is NAMED.”
• We are more than a church. We are
FAMILY. • Within our families we share a relationship with each other that goes beyond family ties… • THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY SHARE A FAMILY “HUMILITY”, A FAMILY “NAME”… 3. FAMILY PROVISION • V. 16: “We pray that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man.”
• As a family we ought to thank God for how
He has provided for us from day to day (Mat. 6:11),“Give us today our daily bread” • (see. John. 15:7). • THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY SHARE A FAMILY “HUMILITY”, A FAMILY “NAME”, AND FAMILY “PROVISION”… 4. FAMILY HOME • “v.17. “I pray that Christ may dwell in your hearts though faith, that your, being rooted and grounded in love.”
• God’s home is within our hearts. “Do you not
know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you,..(1 Cor. 6:19,20) • God does not dwell in building… God lives in YOU! • Is GOD at Home within Your Family? • Love is a Verb! Love is Active… • (see Love is patient, love is kind…(1 Cor. 13: 4-8)… • Love give us integrity because LOVE Never Fails! • It is Love that will hold us together and keep our families from being divided. It is Love that will strengthen a family to stick together no matter what! • THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER BECASE THEY SHARE A FAMILY “ HUMILITY”, A FAMILY “NAME”, A FAMILY “PROVISION” AND A FAMILY “HOME”… 5. FAMILY INTEGRITY • V. 17, 18, 19: I pray…”that you, being rooted and grounded in love.” v.18 “may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depts and height.” v. 19, “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled to the measures of all the fullness of God.” • Our integrity or character as a family is based upon one word: LOVE. • THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER, STAYS TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY SHARE A FAMILY “HUMILITY,” A FAMILY “NAME,” A FAMILY “PROVISION”, A FAMILY “HOME” AND FAMILY “INTEGRITY” AND finally… 6. FAMILY ABUNDANCE • V. 20, 21: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” v.21 “ to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever.” Amen. • The sky is the limit for our families. God can and will do more than we can ever imagine. • If we could have anything we could imagine for our family relationships what would it be? God can give that to us AND MORE!!. • THE FAMILY THAT PRAYS TOGETHER STAYS TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY HAVE A: • FAMILY HUMILITY • FAMILY NAME • FAMILY PROVISION • FAMILY HOME • FAMILY INTEGRITY • FAMILY ABUNDANCE. Conclusion: • Pray as a family and ask God for BIG THINGS… • Ask for the “IMPOSSIBLE” and than watch as God answers your prayer in greater ways that you could imagine. • Pray for the “Second Degree” of Faith… • GOD can give that to us AND MORE! • (see Matt. 19:29)…
