Types of Diabetes
1. Type 1 diabetes
Reporting from Healthline, type 1 diabetes is
an autoimmune disease. In this condition, the
immune system attacks and destroys the cells
of the pancreas, where insulin is made. This
then causes the body to fail to produce insulin
2. Type 2 diabetes.

Type 2 diabetes In type 2 diabetes, the body can

produce insulin. It's just that the body's cells do not
respond to this insulin. As a result, glucose builds up
in the blood. Type 2 diabetes is more common than
type 1 diabetes. According to the US National
Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney
Diseases, type 2 diabetes has a strong association
with obesity.
3. Gestational Diabetes
Gestational diabetes occurs in pregnant
women. When pregnant, some people
become less sensitive to insulin. This then
develops the condition gestational diabetes.
However, keep in mind, gestational diabetes
does not occur in all women. In addition, this
condition usually resolves after childbirth.
4.Diabetes LADA
LADA stands for latent autoimmune diabetes of
adulthood. Simply put, LADA is similar to type 1
diabetes mellitus which only appears when a
person is an adult.
5. Diabetes MODYIllustration of Diabetes
MODYMODY stands for maturity onset diabetes of
the young. The causes and symptoms of MODY are
similar to type 2 diabetes mellitus, but there are
two things that differentiate them
• 6. Double DiabetesDouble diabetes is a
condition that occurs when people with type 1
diabetes mellitus experience insulin resistance
as occurs in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
• 7. Type 3 DiabetesIllustration of Type 3
DiabetesType 3 diabetes is still being
researched by health experts. So far it is
known that type 3 diabetes is associated with
insulin resistance.
• 8. Diabetes Associated with SteroidsSteroids
are anti-inflammatory drugs that are often
used to treat various types of autoimmune
diseases and other similar diseases. One of
the side effects of steroids is an increase in
blood sugar.
• 9. Brittle DiabetesIllustration of Brittle
DiabetesBrittle diabetes is a term used for
type 1 diabetes mellitus with blood sugar
conditions that are difficult to control
• 10. Secondary diabetesSecondary diabetes is a persistent high
blood sugar caused by other diseases, such as Cushing's syndrome,
chronic pancreatitis, and polycystic ovary syndrome.

• 11. Diabetes InsipidusIllustration of Diabetes InsipidusUnlike other

diabetes which is characterized by high blood sugar levels, diabetes
insipidus has no relationship with insulin disorders or high blood
sugar.

• 12. Juvenile DiabetesJuvenile diabetes is a general term used for

diabetes in adolescents. This type of diabetes can be type 1
diabetes mellitus, LADA, brittle diabetes, or other types of diabetes
