IMPLEMENTATION OF OBSERVER DESIGN
CONTROL METHOD ON ATTITUDE CONTROL
SUBSYSTEM (ACS) FOR NANOSATTELITE
SUBSYSTEM

INTRODUCTION:
 Attitude control subsystem (ACS) which to control the
orientation of the satellite around the NEO-orbit to replace
the proportional controller for a single axis control .
 Nanosatellite is a satellite that weight less than 1 kg and
consist 6 subsystems.
 Structure, power, data handling, ground control,
communication&attitude determination, and control
subsystem.
 Function of Nanosatellite, to check condition of the earth.
 Observer design control method used to calculate the state
variable that are not accessible from the plant.
OBJECTIVE:
 To design observer control method to improve
single axis Nano Satellite subsystem
 To create, simulate, and improve control
subsystem by using Matlab/Simulink scripts in
satellite systems.
LIMITATION:
 Disadvantage of control method is not
compatible of non linear system
 Non linear system must be linear using the Euler
Method
 Observer design control method is used to
calculate state variables that are not accessible
from the plant.
 Observer design separate from the design of the
controller.
PROJECT SCOPE
 The analysis based on Observer Design Control
Method for rigid and flexible behavior for ACS
subsystem
 The Matlab/Simulink function will be used for
this project.
LITERATURE REVIEW
 Observer design sometimes called estimator.
 Have linear and non linear system.
 Non linear system is not compatible for observer
design control method.
 Satellite, a moon, planet or machine that orbits a
planet or star. Thousand of artificial, or man-
made, satellite orbit Earth.
 Satellite can be divide into five type.

 Nano satellite also called “nanosats”.
 To reduce that mass and reduce cost.
 Nano satellite enable missions that a larger
satellite could not accomplish.
 It has fully capable power and thermal systems,
radio, frequency communications, multiple
sensors, and scientific instruments will be
integrated on an efficient structure.
 ACS to maintain or change the direction
 Using MATLAB/SIMULINK to create, simulate,
and improve control subsystem

CONCLUSION
 From this research, the observer design control method used to
calculates state variables that are not accessible from the plant
 Substituting the output equation we can obtain the state
equation for the error between the estimated state vector and
the actual state vector.
 Target for that research is to design observer control method to
improve single axis Nano Satellite subsystem.
 Besides, to create, simulate, and improve control subsystem by
using Matlab/Simulink scripts in satellite systems.
 Want to create, simulate and improve using Matlab/Simulink
for the system
