Definition

 Wind energy is the energy obtained from the wind, that is, the kinetic
energy generated by the effect of air currents, and that is converted
into other useful forms of energy for human activities.
 Currently, wind energy is mainly used to produce electricity through
wind turbines connected to large electric power distribution networks
Origin

 Towards the year 1000 of our era the first windmills
are used in the Middle East and during the late
middle ages they began to use mechanical wind
energy equipment in Europe.
 Wind energy has its origin in solar, more specifically
in the differential heating of air masses by the Sun,
either by differences in latitude (global winds) or
terrain (sea-land or local winds
How it is produced and
obtained

 Energy is exploited through the use of wind machines or
windmills capable of transformingwind energy into usable
mechanical rotational energy, either to directly drive the
machines or for the production of electrical energy. In these
the wind energy moves a propeller and by means of a
mechanical system the rotor of a generator is rotated,
normally an alternator, which produces electrical energy. For
their installation to be profitable, they are usually grouped
in concentrations called wind farms.
SeaTitan 10 MW the largest wind turbine in the world
  SeaTitan 10 MW:

 Designed by the engineers of the American company
AMSC, the 10 MW SeaTitan wind turbine is currently
the largest in the world
 AMSC engineers began developing the turbine in
2010, completing the design in 2012. Subsequently, the
wind turbine generator was tested by the US Navy. in
severe weather conditions at sea, surpassing the final
operational tests
BENEFITS OF THE
EOLIC 
ENERGY
 The production of electricity through wind energy and its use
efficiently contribute to sustainable development. It should be noted
that wind energy does not emit toxic substances or air pollutants,
which can be very harmful to the environment and human beings.
 Summary of benefits of wind energy
-Energy that is renewed
- Inexhaustible
-Non-polluting
-Reduce the use of fossil fuels
-Reduce energy imports
-Generates wealth and local employment
- Contributes to sustainable development
Examples

 Wind turbines
Modern wind turbines were developed in the early
1980s, although designs continue to evolve.
