THE LOGO:

The logo is in a bold “futuristic” font. The

fact that the word “sci-fi” is spelt wrong
suggests a more modern and informal
twist on the genre, which you can see
through the entire website. The bold font
and all capital letters puts an importance
on the title, specifically the word “wire”.
The yellow and black are quite modern
colours and have quite a sleek appearance
together, however i think a lot of the
audience would associate these colours
with the sci-fi genre.
THE WEBSITE:
The colour scheme black and yellow, in my
opinion is easily associated with the sci-fi
genre. Initially, when i opened the website i
sensed that the website wanted the use of the
color scheme to be simple and not to hectic,
THE
however still modern and attractive to look
at. As the genre of sci-fi is quite futuristic i COLOUR
feel that this colour scheme fits well and
attracts the audience towards the website.
Because there are only two simple colours
(excluding the white font) the website is easy
to navigate yourself around due to the main
black screen and the bar at the top in bright
yellow, highlighting the other aspects of the
website. SCHEM

WHAT DO I THINK IS THEIR TARGET AUDIENCE?

From the colour scheme of the website to the purpose of it, i think that the target
audience is around 13-25. Here are some of the reasons i believe this…
➔ Slick, modern layout
➔ There are podcasts and fangirls sections of the website, which are quite
modern and new and are quite popular for this age group
➔ I think it is for slightly older audiences as well as it is set out a bit like an
online news paper
➔ The genre can also be quite scary
➔ The movies are fairly recent
➔ The characters they have on the front of the website look young ad
appealing to this age bracket
WHAT MEDIA DO THEY BROADCAST?

The “SYFY” channel is well known for its sci-fi movies, tv, podcasts etc. It has a lot
of different types of media on this genre…
➔ TV
➔ Movies
➔ Podcasts
➔ Videos
➔ Comics
➔ Fangirls
➔ Blog (bad astronomy)
THE LOGO:

I think that the simple bold font of the logo

makes it eye catching and intriguing. In
the name of the channel it states simply
what genre they host, so there is no
messing around. I think that the contrast of
white and red stand out to a younger
audience and attracts their attention. The
colour red is also a well known colour to
do with the horror genre. I think that the
channel could have made it quite dramatic
with a lot of blood or other things, but they
chose to keep it sleek and modern.
THE WEBSITE:
THE COLOUR SCHEME:
The contrast between the dark blood like red
and the white stems from quite a modern idea
of horror. I think that white is also seen as a
frightening colour especially when it is paired
with red. For example a red blood stain on a
white wall, blood stains on a white dress. The
contrast of the colours mae the watcher
nervous and i think that this channel did this on
purpose. I also think that these colours
associate well with the genre. They have kept it
simple with only these two colours to have a
modern and fitting theme for their website.
WHAT DO I THINK IS THEIR TARGET AUDIENCE?

I think that the target audience for this channel is around 16- 35
because…..

➔ It is quite a mature genre

➔ A modern layout for the age bracket

➔ It is set out a bit like an online newspaper which i think is more likely
for an older audience
WHAT MEDIA DO THEY BROADCAST?

➔ Series
➔ Movies
➔ Articles
➔ Competitions
