OBJECTIVE

• Prepare literature review to explain the concept of BIM technology and 5D BIM technique in
BIM software’s.
• Study and analysis various types of past techniques for cost capturing in Construction
Projects and comparing them with todays techniques.
• Assessing the benefits and challenges in implementing 5D BIM in CRIP sector.
• Using 5D BIM method on a High Rise Construction Project to capture its complete cost and
comparing it with other cost capturing methods to assess the feasibility.
• Application of questionnaire survey to find level of awareness and impact of implementing
5D BIM technique in CRIP sector.
• Making a Conclusion on the basis of research problem and questionnaire survey.
PROBLEM DEFINITION
BIM is currently receiving high volumes of attention around the world mostly in Gulf countries but here in India
it’s just the inception for the BIM in the CRIP sector, but slow and steadily many construction companies are trying
to adapt to BIM so we want to be future market ready having triple understanding of BIM from 3D to Schedule
(4D) to Cost estimating (5D) of the entire Project. It will help us to understand both financial and management
aspect of BIM.

5D BIM, thus, can have a powerful impact on the overall construction project when it comes to cost estimations
and related decisions. 5D BIM for better cost planning and estimations, now is the time. It is the need of the hour
for construction companies.

We have taken high rise building as a research problem is because in urban areas the high cost of land and the need
to preserve important agriculture production land have all contributed to drive residential and commercial building
upward that is high rise building.
