INTRODUCTION
At present, the traditional test method is mainly based on

paper and shortcoming of this method is: overload of work,
delay of statistics and evaluation, error-prone, etc.
Online examination system has a major advanage over

traditional pen and pencil method and might replace pen and
paper method.
The details of students and records of examination can be

saved to a database which decreases the loss of records and
file mismatching in online examination system
INTRODUCTION
Online examination sytem involves evaluations of the
students about the subjects each week/freqeuntly and
depending on this, enabling to keep the information
fresh and increasing the learning motivation
Evaluating the understandability of each subject
thanks to the topic-based exams that are made that
they can be carried out at any time or place as much as
desired
Lecturers to upload the questions and answers in the
database and they can see the students who fail or
pass the exam any time by just signing in the
database.
PROBLEM STATEMENTS
time consuming, encourages examination
malpractice, tedious and time consuming.
lack of comfort, delay in results, require more
resource(paper),costly, human error.
Hard to manage records, high risk to
damage(fire,water,lost)
OBJECTIVES
To develop a system for lecturers (admin) to add
courses, and upload exam questions.
To develop an online system that will handle registration
of students that would take part in the online exam
To develop an online system whereby students would
log on and sit for the arranged online exam in the
specified time frame.
To develop a system that would compile the scores of all
the students that sat for the exam
LITERATURE REVIEW
Steinman (2007) also found that “many students
choose to enroll in online courses and the demand for
online courses is high. Taking an online course can
provide educational experiences that would otherwise
beunavailable, especially for students who live in
rural areas and do not have convenient access to
schools.”
Rowh (2007) also found that “online courses offer
convenient learning and that students who take online
classes are working hard. They're just doing it at their
own pace, on a schedule and in a setting that works
PROPOSED METHODOLOGY

Waterfall Model of Software Development Life

Cycle(SDLC) is followed , where each phase has to be
completed and signed off before subsequent phases
can begin.

EXPECTED OUTCOME
The Online examination System will developed using
HTML , JavaScript , PHP and MySQL ,will fully meets the
objectives of the system for which it has been developed.
The system will reached a steady state where all bugs will
have been eliminated.
The system will operated at a high level of efficiency and
all the teachers and user associated with the system
understands its advantage.
The system solves the problem. It will be intended to solve
as requirement specification.
EXPECTED OUTCOME
WORK SCHEDULE
Starting from first week of January ,it is estimated that
the possible outcomes and deliverables outlined in the
proposal will be delivered by the last week of March.
