5. Credit / Class Schedule: 3 units / 7.5 hours per week
6. Course Description : The course involves the study of the
elements of mechanism such as cams, gears, and gear trains. This course
with drafting is intended primarily to give the students familiarity with the
practice of application of fundamentals principles of physics and
mathematics in mechanical movement.

Course Requirements
1. Lectures are to commence by 1300H to 1330H, attendance are to be
checked diligently.
2. Create a facebook group with the name “ME138P_E01/4Q1920”
3. Oral presentation shall be conducted as a group activity.
4. Group yourselves by members of six (6), generate a notepad file stating
your Group Name and Group Members.
5. Grading shall be based on: (1) Appearance, (2) Content and (3) Delivery.
6. Oral Presentation shall be composed of: (1) Background, (2) Design
Condition, (3) Process on how to draw, (4) How they are made in the
Industry and (5) Modern Approach
Course Requirements
6. Topics are as follows: (1) Gears and Gear Trains, (2) Rolling Contact,
(3) Belts, (4) Chains and (5) Cams.
7. Presentation materials should be posted no later than Thursday
2400H of the week of your presentation at our Facebook Group.
8. Online Exam shall be taken on Sunday after the designated oral
presentation.
9. All plate activities are to be submitted in PDF – A3 sized format and
to be sent to celalviar@mapua.edu.ph
10. E-mails to be sent should be based on this format
“Course_Sec_Plate_No._Surname” (i.e. ME138P_E01_Plate_1_Alviar)
