01 Definition
Blending
What’s blend?
A word made up of parts of two other words and
combining their meanings
The new word then represents a combination of
the sounds and meanings of the two original word,
but has its own unique meaning too!

Overlapping blends are those for which the
ingredients' consonants, vowels or even syllables
overlap to some extent. The overlap can be of
different kinds. These are also called haplologic
blends.

Ex: anecdote + dotage → anecdotage
pal + alimony → palimony

May be an overlap that is both phonological and orthographic
