YEAR
 It is a period of twelve months.

How do people say years in English?


 1997: 19-97 is nineteen ninety-seven.

 763: 7-63 is seven sixty-three.

 402: 4-02 four oh two.

DECADE
 It’s a period of ten years (2010 to 2019).

How do people write and say decades?

1) 1950s : the nineteen fifties

2) We can also say them without the century:

 It’s a period of 100 years.

How do people say and write centuries?


The 1800s are called the "19th Century" (Nineteenth
Century)
Why?
 Because the first century was from the year 0 to the end of
99. The second century refers to the the 100s, and so on.
